A strong pace on the cards with Sir Chartwell, Major Beel and Don Diego De Vega likely to roll along early.
A few last start winners have claims again, headed by GLORY DAZE (5) who worked into the race before the turn then dug deep for an impressive win last Saturday over this trip at Randwick. Lightly raced six-year-old who can hold the good form at this stage of the campaign. PRIVATE LEGACY (9) appreciated the drop in class last time out when the comfortable winner of the Listed Centaurea Stakes against the mare in Adelaide. Very fit now so at the weights she can measure up against the boys. SHAHZAD (13) quickly put a plain first-up run behind him when he took out a BM78 over 2200m at the Gold Coast last start. Imported galloper who has taken a little while to settle in but can go on with it now. MAJOR BEEL (1) gave a hint that he might be ready to find form when he led and battled on well for fifth recently in the Scone Cup over the mile. Needs this trip now and if able to dictate might be tough to reel in. DON DIEGO DE VEGA (11) is always a threat when fresh from a spell. SUGGESTED PLAY: Glory Daze each-way.
