GOING: S(5)

P&L MCKELLAR CONCRETING Class 2 Handicap 1625m

Track: Soft 5   Rain (Max: 15)   Rail: +5m Entire. (Pent: 6.00)

Genuine tempo with Earl Of Devon leading the way. BURLEIGH MAGIC (1) has also improved after stepping up to a mile this year. He was runner-up by a nose at Ipswich 3 weeks ago and starts from a superior gate this time. A 2kg claim will help, and he is the main threat to the top pick. EARL OF DEVON (5) set up a strong clip in front last time out on this track and kicked on strongly to hold third. The blinkers are off this time, and Bubba Tilley takes over from an apprentice. Watch closely, can win. JUNE (2) is an ex-Singapore-trained gelding who finished second fresh up on this track 3 weeks ago. He will relish getting out to a mile, and his first local win is not far away. MEKANIC (6) will be peaking third up and with the aid of a 3kg claim, he is worth including in all combinations. AZUKI (8) has been freshened up since a modest effort for sixth at Ipswich nearly 6 weeks ago. Stick with him. SUGGESTED PLAY: Burleigh Magic to win.
