Slick pace with Bradshaw finding the front but it won't be a picnic with a few other speedy types engaged. HONEY JO (3) is the top pick on the class drop and weight relief, although he must rebound from a 16th at Niigata over 1600m where he was beaten just under eight lengths and made no headway. His earlier 1600m Tokyo Dirt run as a well-supported favourite was also below market expectation, so the case is built on the set-up rather than the latest result. OSUMI CIPHER (8) brings the tidier recent margins, beaten three and a half lengths at Chukyo after a fifth there beaten just over three lengths, and this looks a more suitable assignment despite his maiden record. BEST MARIA (2) has the cleanest Sonoda form, with two recent seconds here, and her track-and-distance record keeps her firmly in the winning discussion. LUNA FIORE (4) is harder to trust off two 12ths, but the class drop and her past place record give her a minor-money path if she handles the rise in trip.

The run prior was stronger again, beaten half a length by Taishin when near the top of betting. Third-up now with a win and two places from six at this track and distance, she has the right profile to be prominent again. |

The class drop, 53kg and prior placing at this distance give him a clear reset, but he must produce more than he has shown at his past two. |

The class drop is a help, but the rise in trip and her unplaced record at this distance make her more a place hope than a win lean. |
