They should get along early on with plenty of speed on show. S'IL TE PLAIT (7) sets the standard in a compact A1 contest, having finished second to Soldier Field here last start and holding a perfect top-three record from five runs at this track and distance. He was beaten as a well-fancied runner at his past two, so the winning edge is the only caveat, but the overall profile is strong. BRAVE AMORE (1) is the clear threat after another placing behind Soldier Field and has traded results with S'Il Te Plait recently, though his record here over 1700m is more about consistency than winning. D S YELL (4) brings genuine track-and-trip credentials and was runner-up to Nishiken Bob last time, making him a solid place chance. SITHEP (3) resumes with an excellent overall record and useful weight relief, but must rebound from a heavy Ohi defeat before he can be treated as the main danger.

He was second to the same winner at Mombetsu two back when an outside chance in the betting, and his five placings from seven runs at this track and distance underline the consistency. The concern is that he keeps placing rather than winning, but he remains a major player. |

His previous second to Fours Men at Morioka Dirt was better, albeit as a dominant odds-on favourite. A strong career record and three wins at Mombetsu keep him in calculations, but he must show that last run was an aberration. |
