SALUD POR TI (4) earns top billing after two narrow seconds this campaign, most recently beaten a length and a half as favourite by Iks Clover. Her current-season record reads well and she has already shown she handles this Kasamatsu 1400m. MARGOT MENES (1) looks the main threat after improving sharply into second over 1580m, and the return to 1400m is supported by past track-and-distance success, though his overall winning strike rate keeps him from being a clear standout. PEP TALK (5) brings the strongest recent winning reference, having beaten Unsung Heroine over 1580m two starts back before a plain fifth in 3yo+ B5 company. A repeat of that winning turn of foot puts her right in this. HIRUNO SEVILLA (6) is a solid place-and-value danger, with consecutive placings and an excellent Kasamatsu 1400m record, but she must turn recent consistency into a sharper winning finish.

Races handy and owns a win and two placings from six at this track and distance, making her the one they have to beat. |
