ASCENDIA (11) sets the standard after going under by only a head at Sonoda when sent out an odds-on favourite, and her previous 4yo+ C2 win at Himeji over Shirozukinchan gives the form a reliable edge for this grade. O SHIN CANDY (12) is the main danger, coming off a close third behind Madam Ladybug and bringing a better overall winning profile at the track and distance. FESTIVE LUCINA (4) has yet to win from 19 starts, but the latest fifth at big odds was much better than the market expected and she has been placed four times from nine at this course and trip. SHIROZUKINCHAN (2) was disappointing first-up after being well found, though her earlier C2 effort and light weight keep her in the place mix if she sharpens second-up.
