HEROIC TALE (11) sets the standard after returning with a decisive Mizusawa win, scoring by six lengths as a short odds-on favourite and doing it with authority. The rise to 1400m is the only meaningful reservation, but he has the strongest last-start performance in the race. JUN HANS (6) is the main danger on consistency, having run second here last time after a solid fourth in a 3yo+ B3 at Kasamatsu, and his distance record gives him a proper platform. STAR ADMIRAL (2) has been costly as favourite at his past two, but placings at Morioka Dirt and Mizusawa keep him firmly in the winning mix. OKEN AMAZONESS (4) was plain last start, yet her prior fourth at Morioka Dirt and long association with Rei Iwamoto give her enough substance to be included as the value selection rather than a leading hope.
