Good pressure from the outset with Noble Geyser, Setsunasa and Kitanolesclefsd'or taking up the running over Light As Feather and Moretsu. KITANO AYAKA (8) sets the standard after putting two wins together, most recently scoring by five lengths over 1400m at Mizusawa after being well found in betting. That followed a four-length 1200m win at Morioka Dirt, so she brings the sharpest recent winning profile. MORETSU (2) resumes after a two-month break, which is the obvious query, but his record remains strong: two wins and one placing from six starts, with a prior 3yo C2 win before being safely held second as odds-on favourite in 3yo C1 company. HAPPY KARN (5) is the danger with consecutive neck wins at Morioka Dirt, including one over this trip, and his record with Makoto Otsubo is perfect from two starts. KITANOLESCLEFSD'OR (6) has the place edge on consistency, having won by four lengths two back before a solid third here, though she may need another step to turn that into a win.

The start prior was much stronger, winning a 3yo C2 at Morioka Dirt by just under two lengths from Goud Veel after heavy market support. Proven at the trip and effective for Ryo Takamatsu, he can rebound if forward enough. |

First look at Mizusawa is a variable, but this is a more suitable place-shaping assignment than a win statement. |
