Pace is sure to be keen from Bantarki and Cruel Summer striding forward, along with Moskeeta. SCUD (10) began awkwardly then recovered to be beaten under two lengths when resuming over this trip at the Gold Coast last time out. Takes on a better field this time but drops 2.5kgs and strips fitter so she is a serious contender. TARTAGLIA (16) missed the kick and was never a factor at Newcastle most recently. Tackles a deeper field today but escapes the crushing weights he has carried this prep. Wide draw the only concern. CRUEL SUMMER (2) is a chance off a 30-day freshen up with the help of the inside alley. In the money two runs back over 1250m at the Kensington track which is strong form for a race of this standard. SHIHAB (1) is a new arrival in the Glen Milligan stable and returns from a five-month spell. Went well in a recent trial so a bright return looks on the cards. SUMO FISH (15) has won three from four over 1200m at this track. Excellent first-up effort over a shorter trip. Right in the mix. SUGGESTED PLAY: Scud to win.
