Not a great deal of early speed and Raging Waters may be the one that takes it up. Wide open but VERHOEVEN (5) looks close to a win and is worth following up. Has hit the line hard to finish runner-up at both runs this time in and the rise to 1400m looks perfect now. Expected to go close. LORD HEAR US (1) was safely held before a spell on the synthetic. Prior to that though had shown plenty of ability. Fitter for a good trial and the 1400m ideal fresh. PLAYED STRONG (10) was fair fresh then ran a much improved race second-up. Looks close to hitting top and is among the main chances. BIG OLIVE (9) ran a much-improved race at just her second outing and has further upside. MONCLERE (2) is a 15 start maiden but placed last two and can sneak into the finish at odds. SUGGESTED PLAY: Stick with Verhoeven.
