Pueraria Cheko and Varuna are both expected to press forward and take it up. POMME FUDGE (2) landed her maiden success over this course and distance last time, scoring by 3 lengths. Nicely drawn and looks poised to repeat the dose. SAKURA TOP RITS (4) was out of the money when resuming from a spell last start over 1200m at this track. Fitter and sure to run well. VARUNA (8) finished fourth two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 1000m at this track, beaten 3.5 lengths after being prominent at the corner. Nicely placed to take this out. VOLCANO PESCA (6) was a long way back last start but hit the line well to finish fourth over 850m at Mizusawa. One to watch for in the closing stages.
