DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS WAIMATE CUP 1600m

Track: HVY9     True

Genuine pace with O'riordan finding the front but it won't be a picnic with a few other speedy types engaged. TUMUCH (1) has regained some confidence with a couple of big efforts on the poly track at Riccarton, and he has been placed in all 3 of his starts on this course. While he is probably looked at as a poly-track horse, he has run some big races on the turf, and he looks perfectly placed to get the business done in this. O'RIORDAN (7) is as tough as old boots and her ability to race on the pace is an asset on this circuit. She gets a big swing in her draw, and with 3kg less to carry, she could take some pegging back on a quick 7-day turnaround. PENVOSE LAD (2) has built up a solid record on wet ground and he made up a stack of late ground when finishing runner-up when resuming at Wingatui last weeks. He usually is better second up, and he can go one better here. BALANCE OF POWER (9) has been disappointing in both of his runs back from a spell, but he can be a quick improver if the track becomes heavy. Include in all top 4 combos to be safe. SIR STERLING (3) is always a top 4 chance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Tumuch has the class edge here.
