I Excelle has good early speed and can set a decent tempo. MEEPMEEP (4) ran over the top to score in good style over the 1650m journey last time out and steps out in distance again today. He's had a quiet trial between runs and Hugh Bowman sticks with him here. Likely to get back in the run but he rates highly on his last start and can repeat the dose. FIREFOOT (1) has gone under in good efforts at this track and trip his past two, finishing 1.3L off the winner most recently. Teetan remains in the irons here and he should get every chance from the inside draw. He comes back to an easier race today and he's expected to make his presence felt. GENERAL SMART (10) looks ready for this trip now after finishing off well on the turf course here over a mile. Knocking on the door of his maiden victory and this presents as a winning opportunity if he's at his best. HAILTOTHEVICTORS (3) is better than he showed last start on the turf course and can bounce back.
