FIREFINCH (9) is an honest maiden who resumes from a spell of six months and looks set to run well after three handy trials. Has the blinkers applied and can return with a bang. ELITE GATHERING (8) led early and was still in the firing line on the turn last start before tiring to finish down the track over 1400m at Murray Bridge. Drops back in trip and should be at her top now fourth-up. Among the top chances. GREEN AMBER (10) showed early speed from a good draw last time and battled on to finish sixth over 1200m at Casterton. Has enough pace to offset the wide alley and is a solid top-three chance. ROAD TO THE CITY (3) improved last time out, finishing second at the end of 1100m at Hawker. Bit tougher this time but deserves respect. CONJOIN (2) has peaks that can measure up and is worth keeping safe on the short turnaround. SUGGESTED PLAY: Firefinch to return a winner.
