GOING: S(5)

Worrells Sunshine Coast Maiden Handicap 1000m

Track: Soft 5   Rain (Max: 18)   Rail: 5 metres Entire Course.. (Pent: 6.18)

Keen tempo with Ocean Alo and Savasteel prominent. The well-related GRAM (1) (full to G3 winner Zulfiwar) has been well in the betting in both runs this campaign but has just missed the frame on both occasions. Hails from an astute barn, gets 2kg off with the claim and where there's smoke there's fire. Ticks plenty of boxes for a race of this calibre. WILD LASS (6) just ran into one better over this track and trip on debut and will have derived a stack of benefit from that race day experience. Looms as the main danger. PIGGIETALES (8) was a touch disappointing last time out but the form prior was full of merit. Worth another chance. LUMINOUS GIRL (7) will be ready to peak now third-up from the spell and is drawn to get all the favours from the inside marble. In the mix. SAVASTEEL (3) next in line for the Bayliss camp. SUGGESTED PLAY: Gram to shed the maiden tag.

Full-brother to Group 3 winner Zulfiqar. Third-up today. Resuming 4th of 7 at Eagle Farm Mdn-Sw on April 8 over 1000m, on a slow track; 5.5 len behind Desanto with 58.5kg at $3.80. Second run from a spell 4th of 9 at Eagle Farm Mdn-Sw on May 6 over 1000m, on a slow track; 5.5 len behind Sword Of Legacy with 58.5kg at $3.80. Strips fitter and looks a great chance to break through.
