Strong pace from Tapo and Cumboogle matching motors with Magna Mak close at hand. A couple look to stand out here with PER SEMPRE (5) worthy of serious consideration off three good runs to start the campaign. He's a sprinter who gets back and often they can be disadvantaged by tight-turning tracks, but he'll be suited by the nice, long straight here. SHINING SMILE (1) is a horse who once dead-heated with Tentyris and while their careers have gone in different directions, this is the easiest race he's been in for a while. He'll take full advantage of the great draw. BEHAVIOUR (3) also draws well and while he's yet to win first up, he's trialled well and has the talent to feature for a trainer who's not coming all this way for a haircut. SURPRATIC (6) also resumes from a goof gate and this is tougher than most recent assignments he's been in, he's too consistent to dismiss.
