Genuine tempo with the speedy Helping Hands leading the way. HONEY MAKER (5) was quickly back on track, making late ground over 1400m at Pakenham, beaten only 1.3 lengths. Comes back plenty in grade and rates to go one better. CRYSTANADO (8) brings narrow defeats from Geelong and Yarra Glen and raced as the favourite the latest over this trip. Best figures measure up, and he should get every chance to go one better. NORWOODS (4) placed at Moe this grade and then didn't have the best of it in stronger at Yarra Valley this distance. Maps for the run of the race and the 4kg claim brings him right into it. REGAL ASCEND (9) recorded her first win last start over 1406m at Terang. Has an awkward barrier but is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. BIG KATE (12) peaks and showed enough last time at Echuca to consider. Has the inside gate today, and Nugent replaces the apprentice. SUGGESTED PLAY: Honey Maker to win.
