Steps up in distance today, and the blinkers are removed. Maps well and will be hard to beat. PROSHOW (1) started in the market at Ballarat, but ran well below expectations when stepping up to 2042m. Peaks now, and he has more to give. Has a low barrier, and he gets his chance. TRACK PATCHER (4) is building towards a win with placings at his last two runs, with the latest over 1860m at Avoca. Has the pace to be in a prominent position from the outset and is one of the best hopes. BUTTERFLY BABE (6) impressed over 1600m first up, delivering a Maiden at Terang, finishing hard from back in the field. Has a handy 3kg claim and is sure to keep improving. Expect her to be very competitive. STRIKE FIRST (7) steps up to this trip for the first time and is showing enough to consider. SUGGESTED PLAY: Wondering Spirit to win.
