Marinera and The Magnet should set a strong clip.
MARINERA (6) has not raced since leading for home but knocking up late on debut in heavy going at Warwick Farm last May. Has transferred to the Brett Robb yard and not been produced in any recent trials. Looks the one on face value but the betting will paint a fuller picture. DWIGHT (1) just missed two back over 1200m at Wyong then had trouble running a strong 1300m at Hawkesbury last start. Beautifully drawn and will appreciate coming back to 1100m. Big chance with the race fitness edge on the top pick. FIERCENESS (2) returns from a 196-day spell and has been gelded. Opened last prep with a very good third over 1000m at Kembla before the form deteriorated. The talent is there and his recent op may bring out the best. THE MAGNET (8) was lining up for the third time when a distance third over 1000m at Wyong eight days ago. Fitter and right in contention. VERY SIRIUS (10) disappointed on debut last start but deserves another chance. SUGGESTED PLAY: The top three all have strong claims - slight preference for Marinera.
