Solid tempo with Starinion leading from Insane Volt and Rainagain. BRUTAL BELLE (10) finally lived up to expectations first-up with a well-deserved Maiden win over 1100m at Goulburn in the soft (7) conditions. Sure to prove tough to beat again despite drawing out. STARINION (3) strengthened over the break with the two good runs in provincial class. Covered a stack of ground at latest with a fading ninth over 1300m at Canberra in C2 class. Sure to be competitive from the low gate. BIVACCO (4) three weeks between runs when he ran below expectations to finish fourth over 1100m at Goulburn. Has further improvement to come and can turn things around. PEWTER PEARL (5) slow into stride and never got into a rhythm with a battling fifth over 1000m at Kembla Grange first-up. Likely improver at this level. JUSTE UN CLOU (9) back in trip and assess on her good second two-back at Kembla over the 1000m. Adept in all conditions. SUGGESTED PLAY: Brutal Belle and Starinion can fight it out.
