Expecting Wichitall to lead Piwhane at just a moderate tempo. EL PASO CITIE (3) is progressing nicely and wasn't too far away last time when second over 1211m at Mt Gambier. At his top now and looks the one to beat. EMERALD REWARD (1) travelled in a rearwards position then picked up fairly well in the straight and finished 1.1 lengths away in fourth last time out over 1200m at Mt Gambier two weeks ago. Steps up in distance today. Settles back early but winds up late. Will be tough to stop. PIWHANE (6) improved sharply on her fourth two starts back at Strathalbyn with a win over 1400m at Oakbank two-and-a-half weeks ago, getting home by 1.3 lengths after being prominent at the turn. Finds an easier assignment and can get the job done again. SALSBURY HILL (4) finished 3.5 lengths adrift in sixth last time over 1200m at Mt Gambier in a disappointing performance. Likely improver with top-three prospects. SUGGESTED PLAY: El Paso Citie to win.
