UNCLE BLACK (5) returns after three months in the paddock. Kicked off the last prep with a solid third in a 3110m steeplechase at Tokyo, beaten 4.5 lengths. Reliable jumper with three victories to his name from seven appearances. Best form puts him right in this. RED BAROSSA (8) is up in grade on the last appearance when he scored in a steeplechase (3140m) at Hanshin on 29 March, getting home by 3 lengths. Has a strong affinity with Kayata Komaki who keeps the ride. Looms as a serious contender. ASAKUSA GENKI (10) is resuming from a layoff of three months. Had just the one run last preparation, finishing 11th in a G3 steeplechase (3390m) at Kokura. Worth plenty of thought. WIN GRAND BLEU (4) broke his maiden in a 2880m Nakayama Steeplechase last start. Improver with each-way prospects.
