Epona should lead but there are a few other speedy types who can keep her honest. EPONA (6) finished second on debut ten weeks ago, beaten 4 lengths over 2000m at Nakayama, and has not been produced since. Sure to have improved over the break and expected to play a major role. RIPOSANTE (14) was responsible for a solid effort last time out when third at this track over 1800m, beaten 1.3 lengths. That run should have her rock-hard fit now. Kazuo Yokoyama stays on and although yet to win has been in the money on two occasions. Should be in the finish. VIVID MOON (7) finished 4.5 lengths from the winner in seventh last start after being in contention on the corner over 2000m at Nakayama, an improvement on her eighth at this track the run before. Well placed and there is no reason she cannot find winning ways. BACKPACK (3) faced the starter for the first time and finished tenth last start at Fukushima over 2000m, beaten 5.5 lengths. Plenty of scope for improvement.
