Keen tempo with Vella's Best and Battle Hymn prominent. The flying VELLA'S BEST (9) won first-up in open company at Canberra then led for home over 1000m here last start and looked the winner until a couple bloused him on the line. Genuine sprinter who makes his own luck up front and will be very hard to catch again. The lightly raced SKYGLIDER (2) returns after a 165-day absence. Opened last prep with a win in the Listed Brian Crowley at just his second start. Only failure to date was in the Coolmore won by Tentyris. Class act who can beat the older horses. HEZDARNHOTTOO (5) ran on well without threatening at his latest appearance over 1150m at the Kenso. Very fit sprinter who is rarely far away. MISS FREELOVE (3) resumes. Raced just once last prep and took out the rich Sunlight Consolation at the Gold Coast. Recent trial winner who looks wound up for this. SWEETHEARTED (1) has been freshened up and is one to watch for in the dying stages. SUGGESTED PLAY: Good race - Vella's Best each-way.
