Cangrande has enough pace to take up the running from his wide draw in a low-pressure affair. EFFORTLESSLY (10) has gone close at both starts this preparation, with the latest at Ascot over 1200m. She's been giving away starts and will have to do it the hard way again, albeit up 200m in trip. The top gun hoop rides for the first time, and this is a winnable assignment with average luck. SHIMMERY STAR (11) has placed her last two in town over this distance, and they stack up. Has to push forward from an awkward gate but keeps Chris Parnham and rates to be right in it. INVASORE (1) has been racing well without winning. He's been cruelled by wide barriers and finally draws an inside gate. This is easier than Belmont and Ascot, and it won't surprise if he's in the finish. KING OF THE TOWN (6) draws well with a handy 2kg claim, and his 1.6L defeat at Belmont first-up suggests better things are ahead. SUGGESTED PLAY: Effortlessly appeals most.
