Bonnie Gem is expected to lead at a slick tempo. FLYHALF (3) did not miss a cheque in 3 starts during her initial campaign earlier in the year, but was also sent out as the favourite on each occasion due to some sparkling trial form. She resumes without a trial, but will be stronger, and she is the one to beat. TOO DARN SWEET (6) managed to finish runner-up in 3 of her 4 starts in the spring, and she would have strengthened up nicely over her break. She has not had a public lead-up trial, but if she presents well in the yard, then she can break through for a well-deserved maiden win. MARZENIE (4) has done everything but win this prep, and she was game in defeat as the favourite here 5 weeks ago over 1400m. Dropping back to 1200m is the key, and she can go one better here. PETITE ROCHER (5) adds to the puzzle as she has also finished second in 3 of her 4 starts to date. Michael McNab replaces an apprentice, and that can make all the difference. Stick with her. MAGIC DREAMS (7) is a promising filly who can't be taken lightly. SUGGESTED PLAY: Flyhalf to win in a very competitive field.
