Incredible Patch might not get things his own way up front with a few first starters lining up. INCREDIBLE PATCH (2) has put in 3 solid efforts in 4 career starts, and he should have no trouble with a heavy track now that he is at his peak fitness. He is bred to continue to improve as he matures, and in a small field here, it could be his day. HIP FLASK (1) has been given plenty of time to mature, and he won a trial last spring. He benefits from a 1kg claim, and he is sure to be ready to rumble. HELL ISLAND (3) made his NZ debut and was runner-up at Te Aroha 18 days ago, and he had won a trial at Ellerslie before that. The extra 250m will help him, and he can go one better in this. TOOTHLESS (9) still has plenty to learn, and she did well to fight on gamely for second when resuming at Pukekohe 2 weeks ago.
