Not expecting them to go too hard. TRIORA (6) turned in a decent effort last start to finish second over 2238m at Werribee. Took a while to come to hand this campaign, but racing consistently of late and a repeat of the last-start run would have her the horse to beat. SMOKIN' ROHIE (5) disappointed last time out, but was beaten only half-a-length the start prior and should be at peak fitness now after four runs back from a spell. RUSCELLO (9) hasn't been a regular in the placegetters this prep but most races he has been in have been a touch stronger than this so an improved showing from a good draw would not shock. MATTHEW MARK (2) returned from a spell four weeks ago when he was beaten 11 lengths into fifth over 1600m at Stawell. Strips fitter and can feature. SMILING ASSASSIN (1) was out of the money when resuming from a spell last start over 1600m at Murray Bridge, beaten 9 lengths. He'll be better for that and ran well in some much stronger races than this last time in. SUGGESTED PLAY: Triora to win.
