Insufficient early speed to generate more than a muddling tempo. NEXT EXIT (5) finished second, beaten 1.75 lengths, when resuming from a spell last start over 1100m at this track after she was in contention on the turn. Likely improver with that run now under the belt and has bright winning prospects. INKWELL (2) faced the starter for the first time and finished sixth last start at Ipswich over 800m, beaten 2.5 lengths. Much better for that run and can get off the mark this time. TOOBLOOS (8) is a maiden galloper resuming from a spell after finishing fifth over 1200m at Gold Coast at the latest appearance on February 21. Looks to be in good order following a recent trial win and shapes as one to consider. The well-related IMZADA (4) (half to G3 winner Irukandji) was prominent at the bend and finished third last time over 1100m here when resuming from a spell, beaten 2.5 lengths. In the right race this time and is a key runner. SUGGESTED PLAY: Next Exit to shed the maiden tag.
