From the wide gate Jolly Japes should cross and lead. ARCTIC BRIGHT (9) showed good early muster and fought on to finish second last start over 1200m at Doomben. Will be handy in transit despite the tricky draw. Finds a suitable contest and can run another big race. SOMETHING SHINY (3) switches to synthetic for the first time. Form in two runs this campaign has been very good including a last start third, beaten 2.5 lengths, over 1300m on turf at Toowoomba. Hard to knock. TURBO TORQUE (5) finished third last time out over this course and distance, travelling towards the tail before winding up strongly in the final stages. Tough to hold out again. JOLLY JAPES (11) has hit the frame at the past couple and may feature with any luck from the sticky draw. SUGGESTED PLAY: Arctic Bright to get a well-deserved maiden victory.
