No surprise if the debutants played a key role in the tempo of the race with little speed on paper. OYSTER LANE (5) has been a frustrating conveyance, often about the mark in strong maidens without winning. He tackled a much stronger race in Class 3 company at Caulfield last time and was hardly disgraced, beaten 3.5 lengths. He draws for every chance and sets the benchmark here. HULKSTER (3) resumes for his second campaign having shown ability in three runs last time in, running in a few good maidens. He can improve this time around and looks a key danger. OVERCAST (4) debuted at Seymour over 1300m and got home nicely for third, beaten 2.5 lengths. He should appreciate the extra trip now and can figure. STONEAGE ROMEO (8) resumes with each way claims off a long break. WHITE WINE (11) and stablemate ENCHANTED HUSSLER (9) have to be respected for the top yard. SUGGESTED PLAY: Oyster Lane to win.
