GOING: S(7)

HAUNUI FARM 2100m

Track: SOFT 6     Out 4m

Expecting Mont Ventoux and Doctor Iris to press forward and set the tempo. AWHINA (4) won in this grade at Te Rapa by a head 2 weeks ago, and cops an extra 2.5kg for this assignment, which on paper looks to be even easier. She has a great chance to upgrade her modest track stats in this. PLAY IT AGAIN SAM (5) won here on a heavy track 2 starts back, and then got too far back last time out at Ellerslie off a wide draw. He is closer to the fence this time, and he can bounce straight back into the money here. KHAN HUNTER (1) has been competing well in some tougher fields than what he meets here, and his second at Ellerslie last time out was a tough on-speed effort. A 3kg claim will offset his weight rise, and with a strong record on this track, he can go one better. ENRIGHT (3) will be peaking third up, and he can secure a soft run early on from the pole position. Stick with him for all top 4 combos. MONT VENTOUX (2) will be getting ready for the jumping season, and he is the next best in this field. SUGGESTED PLAY: Khan Hunter each way.
