Tussock to set a strong tempo booting up inside Cesar Bessan and Bookman. The picnic grand final which is very tough to work out. No doubt the best horse in the race is the recent star of the picnic scene, DIAMANDA (1) who has won six of her past nine - including two easy victories at Stony Creek and Kyneton. Came back to earth last time at Yarra Valley in a BM62 but this is much easier. She's got a huge weight of 71kg but there's every chance she's just better than them. If not, QUBELLA (2) looks the one. She won three on the bounce including a 0-56 at Geelong before an even effort at Kilmore when well supported. Up to 1600m should suit (she's a winner over 1708m) and she gets 5kg off the toppy. BOOKMAN (3) is nothing if not consistent and tried hard at Terang last time which is solid form. He should go well. TUSSOCK (10) was just fair last time but the win prior was good and he gets every chance from the inside draw. EPICUS (5) was dominant at Balnarring two back and that reads well. SUGGESTED PLAY: Diamanda to carry the grandstand.
