NAUGHTY GRANNIE (13) just battled when making her debut at Matamata, and she would have taken plenty of improvement from that effort. She cops another wide draw, but will have Craig Grylls in the saddle, which is a positive lead. Her first win is not far away. HOLD ME TIGHT (10) will be peaking third up after a poor effort at her second start at Matamata just over 2 weeks ago. This field is thin, and she is worth including in all top 4 combos. MODELO (1) stepped up to this trip at Ellerslie nearly 4 weeks ago to run second. He can hold that form, and that should be good enough for him to go close to taking this out. GALWAY LASS (9) was not too bad at Avondale fresh up in a small field, and with some natural improvement, she can figure in the top 4 here, despite the wide draw. ZAVADOR (2) is a slow-maturing type, who was keyed up before the start here a month ago and still managed to finish third. He won't have to improve by much to win a race at short notice. SUGGESTED PLAY: Naughty Grannie each way.
