Chester Boy to set a strong tempo joined by The Finnster pressing on from an outside draw. UNUSUAL CORTEZ (5) really let down with a powerful finish when winning his debut at Waipukurau nearly 3 weeks ago. He has been given plenty of time to mature, and he is expected to race is way through the grades this winter, if he is not sold before then. THE WEAPON (4) looked likely at Waverley a week ago before peaking late on his effort. He has a good gate, and is ready to win another race. FAIR GAME (2) let down strongly on the same day as the top pick at Waipukurau, and bolted into score his first win over 1400m at just his third start. Only a wide draw is stopping him from taking the next step immediately, but with some luck, he can still get the job done. CREATION (1) followed up his debut second with a comfortable maiden win at Tauherenikau nearly 2 weeks ago, and even though he meets some smart types here, he can still give them plenty to think about. STARPELLO (7) has been freshened, and he is worth including. SUGGESTED PLAY: Unusual Cortez can win again, and The Weapon is also close to winning again.
