Strong pace as Watermelon pushes forward along with Arduous from an outside gate. PINK VIXEN (7) has been in the market at her last couple of runs but failed to threaten, the latest effort a modest fifth at Ipswich over 1350m. Where there's smoke there's fire and can improve enough to take this out. JUNE (4) disappointed last time when fifth over 2200m at Eagle Farm after a close third at Doomben the run prior. Looks better placed over this shorter trip so rates among the leading chances. BARAZIN (1) returned from a break last start with a moderate tenth over 1550m at Randwick Kensington after settling well back. This is an easier assignment and can get the job done. WATERMELON (3) continued the good recent form when he finished just a nose away in second last time out over 2000m at Sunshine Coast Poly. Has the gate speed to take up a forward position and shouldn't be underestimated. SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 7,4,1,3.
