A solid tempo on the cards with The Little Russian taking charge. DETERMINATO (3) returned last time with a solid third at Seymour over 1300m. The runner-up from that race disappointed at Bendigo on Wednesday, but this is a touch softer than that and this guy looks suited by the rise in trip with added fitness on his side. RAINSUN (6) is the lone debutant in the field, so spotting experience too all rivals, but does look to have a touch more class than most of them going off some handy jumpout performances. SUNBURNT COUNTRY (7) was a new acquisition for the Natalie Jarvis stable last start when he made steady ground to run into second over 1205m at Sapphire Coast. Looks a great chance in this suitable contest. WOMBAT (9) lines up on the back of a 1.3 lengths sixth over 1800m at Horsham. His lone placing came at 2000m, but that was only two starts back, so if he can get back to that form he'll play a role. MIDNIGHT EAGLE (5) is trained here and has placed at his only two runs on the track, so warrants consideration. SUGGESTED PLAY: Determinato to win.
