Strong tempo assured from Unquenchable and Don To The Moon leading the charge. Open race despite the smallish field. MERIDIAN STAR (8) is a promising galloper who got the prize at his only run last prep six-and-a-half months ago over 1400m at this track. Has a very strong record first-up including two wins. Should camp just off the leaders and is the leading contender. RHATISCHE (12) was handy on straightening and went on to finish second last start over 1400m at this track, beaten 1.5 lengths when resuming. Finds a tougher race but a win is not out of the question. BELLAGIO WORLD (6) missed the frame when resuming last start over 1400m at this track but wasn't all that far from the winner. Has never missed the frame when second-up. Boasts two wins and three minor placings from seven runs at the trip. One to consider. POD BEL (11) finished third last start at the first run back from a spell over 1400m at this track, beaten 1.75 lengths. Should take a lot from that hit-out and can fill another top-three spot.
