Expecting Starinion to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sharp trip.
KOIOS (3) had to do a lot of work to race up on the speed last start and the early effort told when he tired at the end of 1250m at Newcastle. Drops 4kgs after the claim and draws in much closer. Ready to peak at the third run back from a spell. OPAL FIELDS (5) was only beaten 2.5 lengths over this distance at Warwick Farm two starts ago. Lacked a kick at the end of 1400m last time. Might be the big improver in this field with blinkers going on for the first time. PELEUS (2) continued his solid form this prep when a closing second over 1150m on the Illawarra circuit 11 days ago. Needs a bit of luck from a wide draw but should be competitive again. STARINION (7) resumes. Led all the way to win a BM64 here at this distance when second-up last prep. Comes to hand quickly and is a big chance if left alone in front. READY TO ROCKET (6) improves at each outing this time in work. Placed two from two at Kembla so she comes right under notice. SUGGESTED PLAY: Happy to give Koios another chance.
