Expecting Zale to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. READY TO SHINE (10) raced wide but kept finding and got up for a gallant third over 1100m at Canterbury last start. Fitter for two runs back from a spell and definitely needs this trip now. Has won third-up before so he should be peaking for this. WHO BUT ROO (2) went about as well as can be expected against Joliestar and co in the Expressway last time. Beaten narrowly in a $50k open sprint at the Sapphire Coast the run before which is decent form for a race like this. Can play a major role. ZALE (8) stalked the pace and tried hard but found one better over 1100m at Hawkesbury recently. The winner of four from 11 at 1200m. Drops sharply in the weights and is a chance if allowed to dictate. NEW PHAROAH (6) was in a cluster chasing the tearaway winner Rose Aye in a Rosehill Highway over 1300m last start. Fitter after two runs in from a spell and better placed coming back to today's journey. WALLENDA (1) has forgotten how to win - returning to midweek company is a wise move.
