Solid pace with Excess finding the front but it won't be a picnic with a few other speedy types engaged. Strong race. Siding with the resuming SHADHAVAR (2) who sets up well. Her best form is over a touch further but the pace here looks frantic and she is a two-time winner at 1100m. First up last campaign she was well backed into $2.90 in a strong 3yo race and she should sit just behind the speedier types and have last say. CELERITY (10) continues to race well, just finding one better her past couple. Her run at Flemington over this trip two back was rock solid and if she slots in she'll go close. EXCESS (3) ran a great race second up here when just run down late by the talented She's An Artist. That's strong form and she'll be in this for a long way. SOUTHERN CRESCENT (12) has won three on the bounce, beating a handy one in Rohesia last time. She can sit back and be charging late. JENNYANYDOTS (8) was good fresh and can be working home late with luck from the inside. SUGGESTED PLAY: Shadhavar to win.
