Genuine pace with Shes No Pie Eater taking up the running ahead of Leonard and Taimate Warrior. BRUTAL RIFF (7) is a debutant gelding by Brutal out of Sharp Tune, who has shown plenty of ability at the trials, including an easy win in the most recent of those. He cops a horror draw, but the Terri Rae team is firing, and if she starts him from a wide gate, then he can still win. RESERVOIR (1) took a nice step forward last time, finishing second over 1400m at this track after travelling strongly to finish runner-up. He has a superior gate this time, and with the aid of a 3kg claim, he can go one better. PERCIVAL (5) is a promising maiden who has been hitting the line well in both of his starts this prep. He wouldn't mind some cut in the ground, and even from a wide gate, he can bounce straight back into the money. UNWOKE (2) hasn’t been seen since finishing fifth over 1600m at Phar Lap Raceway in late December. He has not had any trials, but benefits from a 2kg claim, and any market moves will be worth following. FILTER (11) has been steadily improving with racing. Stick with her. SUGGESTED PLAY: Reservoir each-way.
