Plenty of pace evident with No Statement and Wootton Lass leading the way from Tai Lung and Gambler. A small field but an open race. WOOTTON LASS (7) is a handy filly who has raced at Group 2 level at five of her six career starts. Resumed last start in the Light Fingers when she showed pace but tired in the closing stages. Her only run away from stakes company was a win and she is ideally placed to double that tally. MANUKAU (4) made it two in a row when she changed gears impressively to just get the prize over 1100m at Canterbury last time out. Has really struck a chord under the Freedman/Berry combination and can keep the ball rolling. GAMBLER (2) had been racing well and deserved his all-the-way win over this trip at Hawkesbury recently. Up in class today but is good enough to cope. TAXATION (6) is a useful filly back from a four-month spell. Opened her career with back-to-back wins so expect her to come to hand quickly. RANTAN (1) never got warm first-up at Randwick but is much better than that. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Wootton Lass.
