Plenty of speed runners engaged, with Night Cruiser, Belle Inferno and Hard Leaf prominent. MORLAIX (10) was strong through the line two back and then stuck on gamely to the finish last time when up on speed. Versatile type who strikes a suitable race for her with Milnes sticking. Bold showing anticipated. SIR PANAMA (3) showed plenty of ticker to keep his rivals at bay and get the verdict last time at Port Lincoln. Backs up quickly and can keep the ball rolling. VEE ROD (7) was a dominant winner two back at Kingscote, then went close to making it two on the trot at the same venue two days later. Worked himself into form now and looks one of the main hopes. CROWN AND ANCHOR (4) progressed nicely last time at Clare when finishing strongest late to score over 1800m. Drops back to mile but warrants respect. SUGGESTED PLAY: Morlaix to win.
