Genuine tempo from Oso Spirited leading Nothing Finer. Very open race. RATIFY (3) was slowly into stride in a small field first-up over 1400m at this track but did knuckle down late to just miss the placings. Far better placed out to this trip. Should prove hard to hold out in a race where most runners have genuine claims. SARAPO (1) tackled the same race as Ratify when fresh from a spell here a fortnight ago. Went home slightly the better of the pair on that occasion. Just needs luck slotting in from a tricky draw to be right in the finish. IRON LEGEND (2) did his best work late to get up for third when resuming over 1500m at Hawkesbury recently. Drops 5kgs after Grima's claim which brings him right into contention. EXPLICIT (5) failed over a longer trip at Newcastle last start. Wasn't far away in a hot form race over 1550m at Canterbury two back which is a strong form reference. GARRIX (11) gave a sight over the mile at Newcastle last time. Very fit and makes each-way appeal down on the limit. SUGGESTED PLAY: Ratify each-way.
