Solid tempo with Mazzini leading from In The Ocean and Jaguar Stone. The progressive MAZZINI (9) is a leader who has been winning by big margins. Was backed off the map winning the Tasmanian Guineas by 3.3L last time over a mile. Has to come back to a sprint off a 26-day freshen, but has weight relief and should still have them covered. GEEGEES GEMSTONE (3) is a well-performed sprinter who found better form when placing at Quality level at Hobart. He's been freshened since and trialled well at Hobart a week ago. The premier hoop maintains his association and he's sure to test. CARTOON GRAVEYARD (2) resumes and creates plenty of interest. He was last seen beaten 2.6L in the Chester Manifold Stakes at Flemington, and he'd gone close in the Sale Cup prior on a heavy track. Talented and the betting will be key. THESPIAN WATERS (4) is third-up off solid efforts at this level. He's been freshened and would be right in the finish at best. Should secure a soft run and keep onside. SUGGESTED PLAY: Mazzini can go on with it.
