What A Rush and De Poet to take up the running at a strong tempo. CALIDO MAGIC (5) is capable on his day and had genuine excuses last time out when striking trouble in the straight for an unlucky sixth over 1106m at Grafton. Placed at the track and assess on his good fourth to Petticoat at Randwick in Highway grade three starts back. Top-three prospect. GREY EFFECTS (3) produced a good set of closing splits when coming from last on the turn for an eye-catching third over 1200m at Doomben in a BM70. Winning rider is back aboard and shapes as the main danger. WHAT A RUSH (8) failed to close off in the heavy conditions with the 57kg when a fading sixth over 1015m at Grafton in C3 company. Each way player on the firmer surface. SPARKINGLY (9) hasn't been able to break through for an extended period and will relish the 3kg claim here. Tired late when sixth over 1106m at Port Macquarie after being prominent in the straight. One for the exotics. SUGGESTED PLAY: Calido Magic to assert his class.
