Lack of early pace and expect a moderate tempo at best. HOUDINI (3) can bounce back. He was well backed last start on the Hillside track but got into a tough spot on a day that was tough to make ground. His form prior reads well for this and he looks better placed with Zahra on from a middle draw now. SUNSETS (2) hasn't won in a long time but might be looking for this sort of trip now, albeit his two runs over it as a younger horse not reading all that well. On his best form he's right up to these and Mott should get a good run tracking the speed. EMPRESS OF THE SUN (7) ran well last time at Warrnambool and should be rock hard fit up on the pace, respecting. ARDASHIR (5) was through the same race there and stuck on okay off a narrow BM66 win prior. He's lightly raced and can improve. VEGAS JACK (4) is flying, this is tougher but wouldn't shock. SUGGESTED PLAY: Houdini to win.
