Viewpoint, Hammoon Heroine and Portsmouth can set a genuine tempo. HOVLAND (2) has raced twice this prep, both times in similar races to this, and found the line well to earn a minor share of the prizemoney on each occasion behind the in-form Superfabulistic. Building a strong record at the mile. Ready to peak at this stage of the prep. ORNITHOLOGY (3) travelled at the back of the field and was never in contention first-up over 1300m here. Ran on well for third behind Napoleonic when second-up last October in the Group 3 Red Anchor. New to this trip but on breeding he should run it out. VIEWPOINT (4) raced wide from the outset and dropped out of contention at his latest appearance over 1700m at Scone. Form before that was up to scratch. Can make amends from a far better draw with blinkers on for the first time. A POUND OF SALT (6) hasn't won for a while but gets back to the mile which is the key - he has three placings from four tries at the journey. HAMMOON HEROINE (8) is up in class but racing well and drops sharply in the weights. SUGGESTED PLAY: Hovland to win.
