Genuine tempo from Mariemac leading Commedia. MARIEMAC (7) has transferred from Michael Freedman to local trainer Brett Dodson since a tiring sixth over 1100m at Goulburn four weeks ago. Was in the market and showed pace before tiring late on debut at Canterbury the run prior. Looks good enough to trouble this field. COMMEDIA (5) last raced when nailed on the line over this distance at Ballina on 14 April. Trialled well at Doomben subsequently. Big chance if she can repeat that latest performance. FUNKY COLD MEDINA (1) started at big odds and didn't do a bad job on debut at Scone recently, beaten just 3.5 lengths. This doesn't look as tough so he has definite claims. MOREBAR (3) failed to impress on debut here ten months ago. Worth another chance this time in work. IN BOCCA AL LUPE (2) resumes. Kicked off the last prep with a placing on debut here on a heavy track. Should handle the going again so keep him in mind. SUGGESTED PLAY: Mariemac might be too smart for this lot.
